This ‘museum in book form†invites you to take a tour of ancient and more recent cultures, presenting 130 artefacts that span a million years. Galleries are organized geographically, and a timeline shows the age and origin of each object. The exhibits – from Stone Age hand axes to 18th-century ear ornaments from Polynesia – are accompanied by detailed descriptions that set them in historical and cultural context. Age 9+
